KNYSNA NEWS - Whereas the Garden Route may seem to show off all its glory only on a sunny day, it doesn't mean you have to be glued indoors on a rainy day.
Here's a list of things you can do when the heavens open up:
- Visit Knysna's timber furniture stores and experience the town's heritage.
- Spend the day bass-fishing at Groenvlei – the only freshwater lake on the Garden Route.
- Have yourself pampered at one our many health and wellness spas.
- Rent or buy a Dalene Matthee novel (available at Knysna Information offices).
- Browse the various shopping malls.
- Have lunch or dinner at one of your favourite restaurants that have reopened post-Covid.
- Visit the great art galleries of Knysna.
- Visit the Millwood House museum in Queen Street to see the Knysna of yore.
- Enjoy the scenery and mosaic artwork in Sedgefield – the tortoise is a symbol of the first Slow Town in South Africa.
- Drive along the twisting old Seven Passes Road – a national monument starting at Phantom Pass in Knysna ending in George. Designed by Thomas Bain and built in the 19th century.
