PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Four men are set to appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on Thursday 27 August after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a local man.
Southern Cape police spokesman Captain Malcolm Pojie said it is alleged that the four suspects visited the 23-year-old in Edward Street, Qolweni on Tuesday 24 August and forced him into the boot of a vehicle before driving off to an undisclosed location.
Pojie said the men then allegedly took the man out of the vehicle and repeatedly assaulted him with blunt objects.
"He sustained multiple injuries and was later released by the assailants," Pojie said.
He added that the police investigation into the incident led officers to several houses in Qolweni where the four suspects, aged between 31 and 42, were arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
"The suspects are still in custody and are facing charges of kidnapping and assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm. More charges could be added as the investigation unfolds."
