KNYSNA NEWS - In accordance with the Knysna Municipal by-law on the Prevention of Public Nuisance, the discharge of fireworks, firearms, air guns, or air pistols is strictly prohibited on any premises, streets, or public places, including beaches.
The municipality recognizes the inherent dangers associated with setting off firecrackers, posing risks to both humans and animals.
The use or sale of fireworks is illegal, and individuals caught engaging in such activities will face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
Law Enforcement officers will be actively monitoring hotspots. Local residents are advised to report any instances of fireworks being set off or the illicit trade of fireworks to Emergency Services at 044 302 8911 or 060 998 6969.
