KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Municipality is reminding all residents and visitors that discharging fireworks within the Greater Knysna area is strictly prohibited.
According to the municipality’s by-laws, setting off fireworks or firecrackers is illegal and can lead to severe consequences for both individuals and animals.
The use of fireworks poses significant dangers, including the risk of injury to people and distress to animals, particularly pets and wildlife.
In light of this, the municipality is committed to enforcing the by-laws and will prosecute anyone found using or selling fireworks to the full extent of the law.
Residents are encouraged to report any incidents of fireworks being set off or sold to the municipality’s Emergency Services. Reports can be made by calling 044 302 8911 or 060 998 6969.
