KNYSNA NEWS - A father (49) from Hornlee faces charges of incest and rape after he allegedly raped his 18-year-old daughter in Knoetzie on Saturday 21 October.
He was arrested the following day and appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Tuesday 14 November where he was denied bail. He will make his next court appearance on 10 January next year.
It is believed that the incident took place after the victim, who lives with her aunt, and her cousin (11), were picked up by the accused under the guise of taking them to a party in Concordia.
The accused then allegedly drove the two girls to buy liquor and proceeded to drive to a bushy area near the Noetzie Road. Here they were allegedly forced to consume alcohol before the victim was raped.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is investigating an incest docket following the alleged incident.
"It is alleged that the victim and her cousin were taken to the forest by her father where he violated her. The suspect was later arrested," said Spies.
As this is a sexual crime related matter, the identities of the victim and the accused will be withheld in order to protect the victim.
