KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING - LONG ST (Thurs 9 Aug @ 13h50) – Client activated the panic alarm after a suspect was caught shoplifting. Store manager declined to open a case. Items were recovered and suspect was released.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Fri 10 Aug @ 16h50) – Allsound Guards reported that a suspect was caught shoplifting clothing to the value of R530. SAPS were notified, case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Mon 13 Aug @ 07h39) - Client reported that their shop window was broken and glasses were stolen from the window display. Suspect/s did not enter the shop. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
BURGLARY - COVE ST (Mon 13 Aug @ 10h05) - Gentleman reported that they had a break-in over the weekend. Window and burglar bars were forced and 3 laptops were stolen. Time of incident was unknown. Owner opened a case with SAPS.
THEFT OUT M.V. - FICHAT ST (Mon 13 Aug @ 12h50) - Our Control Room received a report of a motor vehicle break-in. Officer found car with back window broken. Owner of the vehicle was located and confirmed that 3 jackets were missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
THEFT OUT M.V. - MAIN ST (Wed 15 Aug @ 12h00) - Allsound Guards reported that a tablet was stolen from a vehicle the previous day. A review of the footage showed that 2 suspects possibly remote-jammed the locking mechanism when the driver exited the vehicle. They fled in a silver Toyota. Vehicle details passed on to SAPS and a case was opened.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - RIDGE DR (Sun 12 August @ 17h00) - Client triggered that alarm for assistance after a suspect entered the property with a set of keys stolen earlier in the week. The suspect assaulted the homeowner before being chased. Suspect fled leaving behind the owners keys and a hat. SAPS were notified and a case of assault was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
HOUSE ROBBERY - MILKWOOD DR (Sat 11 August @ 16h35) - Client phoned to report seeing an intruder on the neighbour's property. Officers responded and reported that the domestic worker disturbed an intruder in the house. Intruder scuffled with the lady before fleeing with a tablet. Intruder had gained access via a bathroom window. Area was searched but suspect was not found. Case was opened with SAPS.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT - WAENHOUT ST (Thurs 9 August @ 15h19) – Client reported seeing suspects on a neighbouring property stealing electrical cables. Allsound Officers responded and apprehended 2 men found in possession of electrical cables. Property owner was notified, case was opened and both suspects were charged with theft.
BELVIDERE
BURGLARY - MARR LANE (Tues 14 August @ 16h44) - Client telephoned to report a break-in at the cottage. Backdoor was forced open. Items missing included an iPhone, alcohol and memory sticks. Area was searched by Allsound, SAPS and homeowner. Suspect disappeared was spotted but disappeared in region of the Old Drift. Case was opened.
