KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
THEFT - MOUNT JOY ST (Thurs 6 December @ 03h04) – Allsound Camera Controller saw 2 men running up Mount Joy carrying bags. Officers were dispatched and apprehended one suspect in possession of stolen goods. Suspect was handed over to SAPS and charged with possession of stolen items.
COMMON ROBBERY - MAIN ST (Thurs 6 December @ 22h09) - Client activated the panic alarm after one of their guests was robbed of her handbag. A clothing description was provided and CBD was searched. No arrests were made.
BURGLARY - MONTAGUE ST (Fri 7 December @ 04h53) - Officers responded to panic signal. Client informed that an intruder had entered via 2nd floor open window and stole laptop and cellphone. No description available. SAPS were notified and case opened.
THEFT FROM M.V. - MAIN ST (Sun 9 December @ 02h29) - Allsound Camera Controller noticed a suspect stealing side mirrors from a parked vehicle. Officers reponded and apprehended the suspect. Suspect was handed over to SAPS and the stolen mirrors were recovered.
SHOPLIFTING- MAIN ST (Sun 9 December @ 13h56) - Allsound guards requested assistance after a female suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. SAPS were notified, case was opened and suspect was charged.
THEFT - MAIN ST (Mon 10 December @ 13h08) - Officers responded to panic signal. Client had recognised a suspect wanted in connection with a cellphone theft earlier in the year from a shop in the Main street. Officers took suspect into custody and handed him over to SAPS with the corresponding case number.
THEFT FROM M.V. - QUEEN ST (Tues 11 December @ 09h00) - Tourist stopped one of our vehicles to report that the hubcaps had been stolen off their vehicle sometime during the night. No case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Tues 11 December @ 18h15) - Allsound guards reported that a suspect was apprehended for shoplifting with the assistance of Law Enforcement Officer. A case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS - PLOVER STR (Wed 12 December @ 21h06) - Client reported an intruder on the property. Allsound Officers searched the area and found suspect matching the description. Upon searched the suspect, he was found in possession of house break-in implements and suspected stolen goods. Suspect was handed over to SAPS and detained.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - JONKER ST (Thurs 6 December @ 04h15) - Client requested assistance after reports of intruders on their business premises. Officer confirmed one window open but nothing visibly missing. No case opened at the time.
BURGLARY - NEKKIES (Sun 9 December @ 15h09) - Client was notified of power interruption signal from the alarm system. Client confirmed that door and security gate had been forced open. Some trophies were reported missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
COMMON ROBBERY - N2 ADJACENT INDUSTRIAL (Tues 11 December @ 12h30) - Client requested assistance following a lady being robbed of her handbag by 2 assailants. Officers and SAPS members searched the area. Some of the items were recovered but cellphone was still missing. Victim opened a case at SAPS station.
BURGLARY - SONQAYI ST (Wed 12 December @ 23h33) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found shed door forced open. Keyholder confirmed the break-in but unable to determine if anything was missing at the time. Case would be opened the following morning.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
BURGLARY - MARLIN RD (Sat 8 December @ 13h59) - Allsound Officer noticed the gate at storeroom standing open. On closer inspection, a padlock at container was found broken. Keyholder was notified and confirmed nothing visibly missing. Property was secured, no case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARRICUM
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Fri 7 December @ 11h42) - Client telephoned to report that a cellphone was stolen from unattended vehicle. Officers responded and searched the surrounding bush paths. Suspect was not found.
BUFFALO BAY
THEFT - GRYSBOK STR (Wed 12 December @ 09h00) - Client telephoned to report that 2 pairs of sandals were stolen from their yard some time during the night. No case would be opened, no information available on suspects.
