KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
BURGLARY - FICHAT STR (Thurs 31 January @ 07h11) – Client telephoned to report that a flat screen TV was stolen sometime during the night. No signs of forced entry were found. SAPS were notified and case was opened.
THEFT - LONG STR (Thurs 31 January @ 11h34) - Client telephoned requesting assistance after a suspect was apprehended. Suspect entered premises and stole a gas bottle. A case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Thurs 31 January @ 13h45) - Allsound Guards apprehended a shoplifting suspect who stole 3 pairs of jeans. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
ATTEMPTED COMMON ROBBERY - VOORTREKKER STR (Fri 1 February @ 14h01) - Client activated the panic alarm when lady was accosted by 2 suspects (and 2 accomplices). The suspects tried to rob her but she managed to pull free and get inside property. Nothing stolen. Case was later opened.
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Sat 2 February @ 05h54) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found a brick had been thrown through shop window. Owner was notified and confirmed nothing visibly missing. SAPS were notified.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Sat 2 February @ 13h06) - Allsound Guards reported that a female suspect was caught for shoplifting. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - GRAY STR (Sat 2 February @ 17h20) - Client phoned to report an attempted break-in at their property during the night. Suspect tried to force door open but fled when the owners disturbed him. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - NELSON STR (Mon 4 February @ 00h54) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed break-in at the back store. Owner was notified and reported nothing missing. No case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
COMMON ROBBERY - SALIE AVE (Thurs 31 January @ 14h52) - Client phoned in to report that a young boy was robbed of his cellphone by an unknown male. Suspect fled towards the dump site. Allsound Officer searched surrounding area, no arrests made.
SHOPLIFTING AND ASSAULT - HOLIDAY CRESC (Sat 2 February @ 19h09) - Client telephoned requesting assistance after he apprehended a suspect for shoplifting. The suspect then assaulted the manager. Officers detained suspect who was later handed over to SAPS.
BURGLARY - HOLIDAY CRESC (Sun 3 February @ 22h44) - Client telephoned requesting assistance to neighbours property. A suspect had entered via unlocked sliding door but fled when owner spotted him. An umbrella was stolen from outside. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - HOLIDAY CRESC (Mon 4 February @ 03h30) - Caretaker requested assistance after one of units at complex reported a break-in. Suspect climbed onto 2nd flood balcony and forced open sliding door. Owner reported a speaker and food was stolen. Case was opened.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT - VIGILANCE DR (Sat 2 February @ 07h53) - Client phoned in to report that they found timber planks concealed on their property. The planks were confirmed stolen from a neighbouring property and returned.
THEFT - VIGILANCE DR (Sun 3 February @ 08h08) - Allsound Officer noticed a new portion of fence that had been cut. Planks were once again found hidden on the property. Owner of adjacent property was notified. Owner confirmed that back store had also been broken into. A computer screen, power tools and batteries were also missing. Case was opened.
THEFT OUT M.V. - BOSWERKER STR (Sun 3 February @ 16h10) - Property owner reported that a vehicle and caravan had been broken into the previous night. Unknown if anything was stolen. SAPS were notified.
BURGLARY - CONCORDIA RD (Mon 4 February @ 02h16) - Officer responded to multiple alarm signals at school premises and found several windows forced open. Keyholder was informed and reported nothing missing. No case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Fri 1 February @ 09h41) - Client requested assistance after suspect grabbed 2 bags from vehicle and fled. Officer searched surrounding bush, suspect was not apprehended but was positively identified.
