KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
THEFT - MAIN ST (Sun 1 April @ 16h12) – Gentleman telephoned requesting assistance after tourists’ bank cards were stolen at ATM. A description of the suspect was provided and SAPS were notified. CBD area was searched, no arrests made.
SHOPLIFTING - GRAY ST (Wed 4 April @ 17h14) – Client telephoned to report that 3 suspects stole sunglasses and fled. CCTV footage identified 1 of the suspects. Case was opened, no arrests made at the time.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
BURGLARY – DIKKOP ST (Sun 1 April @ 06h59) – Client phoned to report a break-in at guest room. Entry gained through unlocked sliding door. Guest reported that cellphone was stolen.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - DAVIDSON ST (Thurs 29 March @ 01h56) – Officer responded to alarm, reported window forced and internal wall to adjacent premises broken open. Keyholder confirmed alcohol missing.
BURGLARY – REYNECKE ST (Fri 30 March @ 18h17) – ADT requested assistance to break-in. Homeowner reported that suspect entered via open kitchen window. Meat from the freezer was reported missing. Description of suspect was provided and area was searched. Owner declined to open a case.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
THEFT OUT M.V. – MARLIN DR (Wed 4 April @ 10h00) – Keyholder reported that items were stolen from parked vehicle sometime over the long weekend. Matter was investigated as an internal theft, case was opened.
RHEENENDAL / PHANTOM RIVER
THEFT - RHEENENDAL RD (Tues 3 April @ 03h08) – SAPS member telephoned reporting that they caught suspects stealing produce from farm. Control room notified the owner who would open a case. Suspects were arrested and charged.
