KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING - LONG STR (Sat 13 October @ 11h58) – Client reported a shoplifting. Two suspects were apprehended after stealing alcohol. SAPS were informed and a case was opened.
BURGLARY - LEAGUE STR (Sat 13 October @ 12h51) - Officers responded to a panic signal. Owner reported that a suspect entered the house via small bathroom window but fled when he was disturbed. Owner confirmed nothing missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
THEFT - MAIN STR (Mon 15 October @ 19h08) – Client activated the panic alarm after motorist put fuel in and left without paying. Vehicle details were provided and vehicle was later found. Matter was resolved and fuel was paid for. No case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - RAWSON STR (Tues 16 October @ 16h15) - Client reported an attempted break-in. Force marks were found on the door but no entry was gained. Nothing missing and no case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
BURGLARY - SUNVALLEY DR (Sun 14 October @ 13h44) - Resident phoned to report that they had a break-in some time during the morning. A backpack, Samsung Note 3 and jewellery was reported missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
BURGLARY - DIKKOP STR (Wed 17 October @ 20h27) - Client reported that their home was broken into. Alarm was not armed at the time and suspects managed to steal a laptop, a camera, jewellery and clothing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
SHOPLIFTING - GLADSTONE STR (Thurs 11 October @ 16h38) - Client pressed panic button for assistance to shoplifting. One suspect was apprehended and the other fled in a vehicle. SAPS were notified. The one suspect paid for the items.
THEFT - FECHTER STR (Fri 12 October @ 08h53) - Client phoned in to report that Timber was stolen from their yard. Theft took place sometime during the night. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
THEFT - SUNRIDGE STR (Sat 13 OCtober @ 05h50) - Guard on site requested assistance and reported intruders on the property. A door was reported missing and keyholder was notified. No arrests made.
THEFT FROM M.V. - VIGILANCE DR (Mon 15 October @ 07h37) - Client telephoned to report theft from their property. Suspect had cut hole in the fence and stolen a battery from parked truck in the yard. Client declined to open a case.
ATTEMPTED THEFT - SUNRIDGE STR (Tues 16 October @ 02h10) - Guard requested back up after 3 suspect tried to steal door frames. Officers responded and searched the area. No arrests made.
BURGLARY - N2 NEKKIES (Tues 16 October @ 02h54) - Officers were dispatched to alarm signals from premises and found sliding door force open. Two large speakers were recovered close to the property. Keyholder confirmed nothing else missing from premises. Case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM
THEFT - SALT RIVER (Tues 16 October @ 16h58) - Client requested assistance after a wallet and cellphone went missing from premises. Searches were conducted on all contractors present. Cellphone was found in nearby bushes but wallet was still missing. Owner of the items declined to open a case.
BELVIDERE / PHANTOM RIVER
BURGLARY - FISH EAGLE STR (Sat 13 October @ 07h50) - Client telephoned to report that they had a break-in during the night. Entry was gained via broken door. Suspect stole a laptop and food from the freezer. SAPS were notified for a case to be opened.
BURGLARY - PHANTOM RIVER RD (Mon 15 October @ 23h29) - Officers responded to alarm signal and found bathroom window had been broken. Keyholder met officers on site to check the property. Suspect had opened bedroom cupboards but nothing was missing from the property. Surrounding area was searched but no suspect found.
LAKE BRENTON / BRENTON ON SEA
BURGLARY - STEENBRAS STR (Mon 15 October @ 15h43) - Client requested assistance after arriving home and finding door standing open. Officers responded and confirmed that there were force marks found. Owner reported nothing visibly missing. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - WK GROBELAAR (Tues 16 October @ 15h10) - Officer was dispatched to alarm signal and confirmed that the shed had been broken into. With assistance of residents and CCTV cameras in the area, a well-known house break-in suspect was apprehended.
RHEENENDAL / BUFFALO BAY
HOUSE ROBBERY - WALKER STR (Wed 17 October @ 00h37) - Client phoned our Control Room requesting assistance after house robbery at neighbours property. Armed assailants gained entry via bathroom window and held resident at gunpoint. A number of items were stolen from the property before suspect fled in the owners vehicle. Allsound Officer spotted the getaway vehicle and gave chase. Suspect abandoned the vehicle in the township. Initial reports indicated that all the stolen goods were recovered. Case is further being investigated by SAPS.
