SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The Eden Classic Car and Motorcycle Show, held recently in Sedgefield as part of the Knysna Oyster Festival, was a resounding success.
Over 2 000 visitors attended the event, drawn by a remarkable display of more than 200 cars and 40 motorcycles - and the welcomed absence of rain despite prior warnings.
Organiser Peter Pretorius praised the turnout, noting the focus on supercars and performance vehicles, alongside a rich selection of traditional classic sports cars.
Ferrari was the featured brand, with 15 models - mostly in red - on proud display.
Vehicle owners from across the country showed great support, with several travelling long distances. Some Cape Town collectors even transported their prized cars by carrier to the Scarab Arts and Craft Market, which hosted the event for the second year.
One of the show's highlights was Lofty Pretorius' meticulously restored 1954 Jawa 500cc twin-cylinder racing motorcycle.
The rare bike, dedicated to his late daughter and racing legend Paddy Driver, drew much admiration.
With everything from MGs to Morris Minors, the show offered nostalgic value and modern flair. Visitors also enjoyed local stalls and the relaxed country atmosphere, making it a memorable day for families and enthusiasts alike.
