KNYSNA NEWS - The curtain closed on Art In Motion's captivating dance production, Identity, on 27 September, leaving audiences inspired and moved.
This year's show tackled a vital theme: mental health awareness.
Over two nights, 50 talented dancers, aged 6 to 30-plus, took to the stage, showcasing their skills in hip-hop, modern contemporary, jazz, and acro dance. The diverse programme highlighted the dancers' versatility and dedication.
Poignant message
The event's significance extended beyond entertainment, as Art In Motion collaborated with Karin du Plessis from Famsa. Du Plessis shared a poignant message about mental health and the organisation's supportive resources.
Maria Coetzer and Nicole van Strijp's exceptional choreography wowed the audience, who were held spellbound throughout the performance.
From energetic routines to emotive pieces, the dancers' passion and expression shone through.
Identity demonstrated the power of dance to unite and uplift the community. By addressing mental health, Art In Motion sparked essential conversations and fostered empathy.
"We're incredibly proud of our dancers for their outstanding performances and commitment to this important cause," said Coetzer.
Art In Motion would like to thank Famsa, the dancers, show crew, and audience for their continuous support.
