KNYSNA NEWS - Community members gathered outside the Knysna Magistrate's Court today, 5 June, to protest against the granting of bail to a municipal employee arrested by the Hawks yesterday on the Knysna Municipality premises.
The employee is accused of selling municipal jobs, which has sparked widespread outrage among residents. The protesters expressed their anger through singing and chanting.
Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani confirmed in a statement that the arrest of the accused came after he was implicated in a corruption case.
The arrest was made by the Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation team from George.
