GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Last year, Capetonians eclipsed the rest of the world by capturing over 53 000 different plant, bird, insect and animal species on their phones in the international City Nature Challenge, but this year the Garden Route is looking to "click" even more species!
So that everyone can join in the fun of this challenge, Wessa, the Garden Route Botanical Garden and Crew Outramps are holding a series of "How to participate" workshops.
To attend the Wilderness workshop on Wednesday 18 March at 18:00 for 18:30 at the Wilderness Hotel, please RSVP by e-mailing Wessa urgently on wessageorge@isat.co.za so they can provide enough hands-on trainers.
All you need to bring is your smartphone (if possible, download the iNat app beforehand and register using ID, name and password - or use your Facebook or Google account) and your enthusiasm!
The Challenge is to photograph as many species as possible over four days - 24 to 27 April - and upload the observations, for which you have another week until 3 May.
More workshops are being organised throughout the Garden Route - sometimes at very short notice, so follow Wessa on Facebook (under Garden-Route-City-Nature-Challenge) and on the dedicated Garden Route City Nature Challenge website.
