SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Creativity and camaraderie were on full display on Saturday 28 March as teams gathered at Fish Eagle Green on The Island for the annual Masithandane "Anything That Floats" event.
Six teams took to the water in a spirited effort to raise funds for Masithandane, with participants of all ages embracing the challenge of designing and building sustainable rafts.
Among those competing were two Scout teams, Sedgefield Lions, The Green Machine, Snow White and The Edge.
The event delivered a lively mix of teamwork, ingenuity and light-hearted fun as teams put their homemade vessels to the test.
Spectators and participants were treated to plenty of laughter and memorable moments as some crafts proved more seaworthy than others.
Organisers said the event continues to grow as a highlight on the local calendar, bringing the community together in support of a worthy cause while promoting environmental awareness through the use of recycled and sustainable materials.
Top honours on the day went to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, along with one of the Scout teams, who impressed judges with both creativity and performance on the water.
