KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Police have opened an investigation after a woman's body was found close to the Hornlee Civic Centre on Sunday morning.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Christopher Spies, the woman's body was found in bushes "near, close to" the Hornlee Civic Centre in Fontein Street on Sunday 11 July at about 08:00.
"Information available reveals that a passer-by noticed the body of the woman and alerted the police about the discovery," Spies said. "Emergency personnel were dispatched and the woman was declared dead by paramedics on the scene."
The deceased is yet to be identified, and the circumstances surrounding her death are unknown and under investigation. "A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will be conducted later this week," Spies clarified.
