As the project gains momentum, organiser Ashley Nevill reminded residents not to forget to give something to those who may be cold or needy this winter - knit a blanket or donate one, donate a tin of food for an adult, baby or even a pet.
"Women who only want to knit squares can also do this and KGG will sew them together," says Nevill.
Knysna drop-off points are Treasures 4U, Beauty Crush Salon, Zoe's Emporium, Body Essence, Pata Patina, Wrap-It and Curves Gym.
In Sedgefield, contributions can be dropped off at the Sedgefield Tourism office and 'Die Windpomp' Diner.
By June 1, the blankets and food will be distributed before the real cold sets in, says Nevill.
