PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou residents and visitors are urged to steer clear of the New Horizons cemetery, on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay, for now. This comes after a surrounding wall collapsed last week.
"The area where the wall collapsed is currently deemed unsafe," the Bitou municipal communications team warned.
"The collapsed wall has created a hazardous condition, and entry into this space poses a personal safety risk."
The team said that it was imperative that members of the public refrain from entering the cemetery in the vicinity of the collapsed wall.
"Individuals who enter this area do so at their own risk. Bitou Municipality will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur as a result of entering the unsafe zone.
"For your own safety and well-being, we urge you to adhere to this warning and avoid the area until further notice."
The municipality is taking the necessary measures to address the situation and ensure the safety of visitors to the area.
