PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A 40-year-old man believed to be a Bitou town councillor was arrested on a drink-driving charge along the N2 in Plettenberg Bay on Friday 5 September.
The suspect is yet to make his first court appearance and his identity can therefore not be confirmed by the police, said SAPS Southern Cape media spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies.
Spies confirmed that the man was arrested at Qolweni at about 21:20 on Friday.
The suspect was released later and that the outcome of forensic results are being awaited.
“He will appear in court once charged,” said Spies.
