KNYSNA NEWS - Lily and Chloe Mello, learners at Forest Edge Primary School, have brought home top honours from the recent American Academy of Ballet (AAB) Performance Awards, delivering standout performances that highlight their growing promise in the world of classical dance.
Representing the Sidwell Roman School of Ballet, the sisters impressed adjudicators with their technique, discipline and stage presence under the guidance of instructors Courtney-Drew Meyer and Sidwell Roman.
Lily, competing at level 2, was awarded silver with double distinction. Her sister, Chloe, competing at level 6, achieved gold with distinction, placing her among the top performers in her category.
In an even greater achievement, Chloe has also been awarded a prestigious scholarship to attend the American Academy of Ballet's 2027 Summer Programme in New York City.
The opportunity is reserved for a select group of promising young dancers and offers international exposure and advanced training at one of the world's leading ballet institutions.
