PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The AYFS Youth Zone hosted a vibrant and impactful Youth Day health event at the New Horizons Clinic over the weekend.
The event was organised by Marielle Peters (Youth Zone champion), Ashley Williams (chairperson and event MC), and Glenda Windvogel (assistant management member).
The two-hour programme aimed to empower and educate youth on health and wellness, with a special focus on family planning, safe sex and building resilience.
Guests included learners from Plettenberg Bay Secondary School, along with their talented choir group, as well as members of Masizame, a foster care organisation from KwaNokuthula.
This was followed by a health consent talk with the learners, presented by the social workers. A key highlight of the event was an informative session on family planning and safe sex, delivered by Peters, which educated the youth on responsible health choices.
The Plettenberg Bay Secondary School choir added a joyful atmosphere with a musical performance.
The event concluded with attendees visiting various health information stalls, before enjoying a delicious meal sponsored by Building the Walls.
