KNYSNA NEWS - Ian Uys, a former Knysna councillor, and a member of the African Christian Democratic Party, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 28 June.
He served on the council from 2018 to 2018, working on the integrated human settlements planning committee, and developement and municipal public accounts committe. According to his daughter, Cheryl Uys-Allie, he lost his wife, Barbara, six years ago, and "continued to live with her".
"My father spend a lifetime researching, recording and documenting SA military history, from the Boer War to WW1 and the SA border wars."
