PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Planet Fitness is set to transform Plettenberg Bay into a playground for training, wellness and celebration.
From Monday to Sunday, 15 to 21 December, the town will come alive with Train Plett, a week-long hybrid "wellness village" where a year-round training mindset meets holiday vibes and festival energy.
The seven-day experience is designed for athletes, families, holidaymakers and anyone ready to move, recover, recharge and connect.
Jenna Rivera, head of marketing at Planet Fitness, says that the week is a celebration of hybrid training and community.
"We wanted to create something that pulls people together in a place that feels energising and unforgettable. Plett gives us the perfect backdrop to mix training, teamwork and a bit of adventure in a way that feels fun, thrilling and genuinely exciting."
The site of the festival will be the soccer grounds and nearby areas at the entrance to Greenwood Bay College.
The zones include:
- Hybrid Zone: Featuring Hyrox simulations to get your blood pumping, and yoga and reformer Pilates classes for strength, mobility, and calm.
- Experience Zone: Partner activations include a recovery lounge with ice baths and compression boots, the Schnoz Strips Booth (for better breathing and harder training), a coffee truck and fully supervised kids and pets zones.
- Delish Food Village and Bar: Highlights include the braai station by Chef Peter Goffe-Wood, award-winning chef.
Fun runs: There will be two fun runs, a 2km or 5km, complete with hydration stations and post-run stretch zones.
