Update
KNYSNA NEWS - A drive-by memorial was held yesterday, 2 Friday evening, in remembrance of a woman believed by her family to be Velia Angelique Strydom, who died under circumstances currently under police investigation.
Although police have not yet formally confirmed the identity of the deceased, family members have identified her as Strydom.
An autopsy has been conducted, however the results of the post-mortem examination have not been released to the public.
The woman’s body was discovered on 12 December in bushes near Red Bridge. A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case.
He is expected to appear in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 5 January, where a murder charge is anticipated.
The funeral service for Velia Strydom, whom the family has identified as the deceased, is scheduled to take place today at the Vermont Centre in Gladstone Street, Hornlee.
