KNSYNA NEWS - An argument between two brothers seems to have been the cause behind another murder in Knysna recently.
The police arrested Kervin Pasja (29) subsequent to the death of his brother Jesuan Pasja (33) in Kalender Street, Hornlee on Monday 11 February.
According to local police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, preliminary investigations indicate that the two siblings had an argument that led to Kervin stabbing Jesuan with a knife.
"Jesuan sustained stab wounds to the body and was later declared dead on the scene by paramedics. A postmortem to determine the cause of death still needs to be conducted," Spies said.
At Kervin's bail hearing on Tuesday 19 February, the only words Amanda Pasja could utter were, "I am his mother" as she sat there with other family and friends who were there to support the family.
A family friend, Doreen Petersen, commended the grieving woman for choosing to be strong and supporting her son. "We know and truly believe he didn't mean to harm his brother and we are here today to show him that we're behind him and willing to help wherever we can."
Bail was granted to the accused and he is due to appear in court again on 2 April.
This latest incident makes it the fourth murder in Greater Knysna in a less than a month.
