KNYSNA NEWS - Holding up placards protesting the sky-rocketing petrol price with the hashtag #StopTheTaxAttack - the DA's Western Cape Premier candidate Alan Winde joined Mayor Mark Willemse, several DA Councillors and supporters to picket against the latest petrol hike at various intersections of Knysna town on Wednesday morning.
“The government needs tax, but it doesn't help if it keeps going up. There's bad management. The Rand is weak because of bad management. When fuel goes up, taxi fare goes up, food goes up, and you hit the poorest of the poor”, said Winde.
Winde was in Knysna to launch the campaign for the DA Ward 8 candidate ahead of the upcoming by-elections following the death of ANC Councillor Victor Molosi.
The by-election is scheduled to take place on 24 October.
