KNYSNA NEWS - Velile Waxa, former ward councillor and one of the men accused of the murder of ANC councillor Victor Molosi, was granted R10 000 bail after a successful High Court appeal today.
According to his lawyer, Daan Derckesen, Waxa's family has paid the amount already and whether he has been released or not is "red tape".
Adding to this, Dercksen said the defence and the state agreed that Waxa will not be staying in Knysna for the duration of the trial.
"This is one of the bail conditions, the obvious one is that he must be present at all court appearances and the last one is that he may not contact witnesses directly or indirectly," said Dercksen.
Waxa, alongside his co-accused Mawande Makhala and Vela Patrick Dumile, will be appearing in the Knysna Magistrates Court on Thursday, 28 March.
