Cathey Weideman, the Democratic Alliance (DA) campaign manager for the 2015 by-elections as well as the 2016 municipal elections, confirmed the by-elections date on Monday, June 8. Voter registration will take place in these wards on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, from 08:00 to 17:00 on both days.
Weideman said that the registration will be for new residents in the wards. "Residents who voted in the 2014 national and provincial elections do not have to re-register, unless they have moved to another voting district in those wards.”
