THUMBS UP
To the management of Little Ellies preprimary school for upgrading their interior to feel like "the green green grass of home". (The concrete foyer of Little Ellies, apart from other improvements, has been covered with synthetic grass.)
• To Knysna yacht club for our super Xmas luncheon on Thursday.
• A special thanks and thumbs up to Mr Pofadder of the Knysna municipality for his prompt action in helping with two of our Hospice patients in need. Thank you for having
a "heart for Hospice" and our local community. Together we can be locals caring for locals!
• Knysna Sedgefield Hospice would like to thank Bertus, Natalie and their team at 3@1. Your work is impeccable and your services top class. Thank you for always being so willing to help us in a tight spot.
• To Andy Stunden and Allsound Security for their outstanding guarding service provided to the Sea Cadets in Union Street. Their monitoring is outstanding and their response time amazing. Thank you very much. Knysna is lucky to have you in town.
• To Knysna-Plett Herald. As a result of your correspondence with the municipality re our (nonexistent) streetlights after four months, they reacted the following week. I saw them searching where the burnt-out poles used to be, and I could assist them with two points. Last week our lights were turned on again, and with better poles which, I think, won’t catch fire as they seem to be of cement?
• Fern Emanuel and the Knysna Rotary Ann club give Wilani of Lapland a big thumbs up. Wilani offered to sew 35 Christmas stockings free of charge for our year-end lunch. We are so grateful to her for her kindness and willing help.
• Knysna Sedgefield Hospice would like to thank Keith and 34º Degrees South for going to so much effort to make our staff Christmas lunch such a special and memorable event. The food and service were excellent as usual!
• Another flag goes up in Brenton-on-Sea. Nautical South restaurant/bar is a wow! Fresh menu every week. All dishes cannot be more delicious and beautifully prese
• Thank you to Chape Panel Beaters for repairing the problem with my boot. Excellent service and always willing to help. Much obliged.
THUMBS DOWN
• To the traffic department/municipality for the ongoing traffic jam at the hospital intersection.
• To the person discharging a pellet gun on Sunday morning in Protea Road, Paradise.
• As fire victims (happily only "partly") we asked a local business in June to replace our cracked windows and cottage pane strips. The firm did the same work for us some 14 years ago. They quoted but now that they finally got here to do the job they backed off. Just replaced the glass but refused to install the cottage pane, leaving us with a house that doesn't look like ours anymore.
