KNYSNA NEWS - As per the annual tradition, Oakhill College's matric art students will be putting their work on display once again from Thursday, 22 October.
Pablo Picasso said, “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working”, and when you experience the visual feast that is Oakhill School’s IEB Matric Art Exhibition, you will no doubt agree that you are glimpsing into the creative worlds of nine young artists who have found their inspiration by working exceptionally hard during an extremely difficult time.
The power of the visual arts to enrich human experience and society is recognised and celebrated through the works of Chloé de Villiers, Catherine Donnell, Nicholas Hill, Jennifer Moyo, Viggo Platt, Amy Redman, Erin Rupert, Mathilda Sullivan and Madison Turner.
The exhibition showcases their year and examination work, created in response to two themes, which provided a structure but also allowed for much interpretative freedom.
The theme for the year work was “Outside the Centre”.
