KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - With the province getting closer to the 50% mark for eligible persons registered for the Covid-19 vaccine, the national Vooma Vaccination Week campaign hopes to see people come out in their numbers for jabs.
The Western Cape has seen a total of 2 688 710 registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine, 47,90% of the eligible population, as at Monday 6 December. The 18- to 34-year-old age group remains the most registered with 852 659 registrations.
In the Garden Route 239 486 people have registered thus far, 48,37% of the eligible population.
Here, the 35- to 49-year-old age group holds the most registrations with 66 433 people registered. Knysna is still the third-most registered town in the district with 34 202 registered individuals, 59,58% of the eligible population.
The 35- to 49-year-old age group is the most-registered here too, with 10 225.
Bitou meanwhile has a total of 20 767 registrations, 48,87% of the eligible population. The 35- to 49-year-old cohort reigns supreme here too, with 6 758 registrations.
