KNYSNA NEWS - This photo, sent in by Saskia Meyer from Brenton-on-Sea, was taken on Friday evening 27 July.
When first viewed by the Knysna-Plett Herald, the image seemed almost unreal.
"It is very much real," said Meyer, and was taken when "clouds over Brenton-on-Sea finally parted for the rare sight of an eclipsed 'blood moon'," she added.
