STORMS RIVER NEWS - A total of six people died following an accident between Storms River and Humansdorp yesterday, Sunday 13 August. Two more people sustained injuries and were transported to hospital.
According to Eastern Cape Department of Transport spokesperson Unathi Binqose, the accident occurred at approximately 17:30 .
The accident involved a Toyota Rav 4 and a Mini Cooper, that are believed to have collided head-on.
"All the deceased were from the Mini Cooper - three adult females, two boys and one adult male," Binqose said. "The six are suspected to be related."
Binqose also indicated that the other two injured individuals, a man and a woman - both Swiss tourists - escaped with minor injuries.
"A case of culpable homicide has been opened for further investigation." Eastern Cape police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu confirmed the case of culpable homicide.
The Toyota Rav 4 which was involved in the accident.
