PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS – The Nature's Valley Trust is calling on locals to come together and assist them in creating a Friends of Nature's Valley Trust forum to further the work done by the NVT.
According to an NVT press release issued last week, Nature's Valley draws together a community of people who are passionate about the valley and its surrounds. And the valley represents more than ecological space; it is also a social space where people interact and connect with neighbours, friends and family.
Importantly, both the ecosystem and the social system are dynamic and change constantly. More people have taken up residence in the valley and more people are utilising its natural resources.
"The Nature's Valley Trust is a community-based organisation and we strive to adapt, engage with and grow our support base," the press release read. "We want to share the excitement of new and exciting developments as well as projects that are reaching maturity and are increasingly influential in positive ways. We also know that there are extraordinary and diverse skills in the Nature's Valley community, and we would like to get more people involved in the trust."
With this as motivation, NVT wants to bring together a "Friends of Nature's Valley Trust" forum.
The objective is to bring together interested supporters a few times during the year to present some of the fabulous ongoing work in the valley, but also discuss strategy, priorities, and challenges.
Practically the forum will be likely to meet quarterly, for approximately an hour, in an online, relaxed setting for an update, discussion and feedback. New insights and any specific opportunities or actions will be circulated immediately after the meeting.
Should you wish to join this group of "future-thinkers" and become a Friend of NVT, please contact Duncan at duncan@naturesvalleytrust.co.za or 083 630 1749.
