KNYSNA NEWS - The annual opening cruise hosted by Knysna Yacht Club was held with much success last weekend, with commodore Ken Reynolds saluting a healthy number of boats during their sail-by past the yacht club on Saturday 2 September.
The opening cruise is a special occasion on the annual yacht club calendar and dignitaries from the municipality, local schools, fellow yacht clubs and other local organisations such as the Knysna Angling and Diving Association come out to attend the event.
It is held every year on the first weekend of September and provides lots of fanfare for members of the yacht club as well as tourists visiting the Knysna Waterfront.

Some boats flew colourful sails for the event.
The canoe polo crew once again took part in the sail-by.
Participation in the sail-by was not limited to humans either.
