SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The search for missing Norwegian student Marie Ostbo (21) resumed this morning, Thursday 17 May, after it was called off 10 days ago.
Ostbo was last seen on Myoli Beach in Sedgefield on 18 April after she went for a walk on the beach with friends and members of a tour group at around 18:00.
When they returned at around 19:00 Marie was seen on the beach about 100m from the backpackers' accommodation where they were staying.
A while later, when Ostbo had not returned to the backpackers, her friends became concerned and started searching for her. She was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, they will launch an extensive search involving various role players and community members to see if they can find any new leads on the mystery surrounding Ostbo’s disappearance.
