SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The Southern Cape Christian Family will on Sunday welcome a special guest, Zimbabwean author and public speaker Rusty Labuschagne, who will share his story with attendees.
Labuschagne will share insight into his book Beating Chains, and the incredible journey of his life. In 2003 he was framed and wrongfully convicted of drowning a poacher.
He served 10 years in Zimbabwean prisons, including the notorious Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.
Labuschagne lost everything he had worked so hard for, but most of all, his freedom. In his book and at public speaking appearances he shares the life lessons he has learned – how to harness your inner strength, how to forgive, and how to show gratitude.
Labuschagne's is an inspiring story of true grit in the face of great adversity, of a man who loses everything as he is broken by a corrupt political system, but who then rises to fight that system on his own terms.
The special event will be held at Sedgefield Primary School on the corner of Piet my Vrou and Swallow Streets, starting at 09:30.
