PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A suspected robbery was foiled in Plettenberg Bay on Sunday night thanks to vigilant community members and crime fighters.
Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association (PBCPA) operations head Otto Olivier said their Harkerville Rural Protection (HRP) team received information about two men planning a robbery.
"A detailed description was given of the suspects, who were on their way from the Barracks," Olivier said.
Two of the HRP team members responded immediately and managed to apprehend the suspects. They had a replica 9mm pistol in their possession.
Shortly after the apprehension Kwanokuthula police, the Plett K9 unit and private security companies also responded.
"During investigation, various stolen items from a house burglary of a few days ago were found and various firearms were confiscated by Kwanokuthula police." Both suspects were arrested.
Olivier thanked the police and various other crime fighters that responded. "It was a tremendous response and an excellent outcome."
Local police confirmed the incident and the arrests.
