KNYSNA NEWS - Susan "Susi" Louise McLintock passed away peacefully on 5 October at the age of 62 after a courageous and stoic battle with cancer.
Susi was surrounded by loved ones, and was celebrated by those closest to her in a wake at her beautiful home in Knysna.
Susi lived an enormously colourful and successful life. Born in Klerksdorp, she started her career as an international model before settling in Johannesburg and starting a career in fashion and interior design.
Susi moved to Knysna in 1997 where she opened some of Knysna's most renowned restaurants including Fat Susi's, Coffee Connection and Casa de Galina. In her later years, Susi focused on her art where she reached international acclaim exhibiting in New York, London, Singapore and throughout South Africa.
The African bushveld and the natural beauty of our country and its people brought Susi immense joy in life and was the driving inspiration behind her art and style. Susi loved spending time with her children and travelling.
Her bright personality was contagious to everyone she met and she will be dearly missed by her family and the community.
Susi is survived by her two children Sean and India, her brothers Simon and Oliver, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family have asked those who wish to send flowers or gifts to make donations to Hospice instead.
