GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Eskom Expo for young scientists has had amazing success over the last few years, and according to the new regional science fair director (RSFD), this year will be no different.
In order to keep up the growth and further the success of the Expo, says new RSFD Caroline Bredell, she needs assistance from schools, businesses and the community within her region to join the organising committee for the regional science fair, and to act as judges during the fair in August, which will be held at Nelson Mandela University (NMU) in George.
Bredell is the physical science teacher at Knysna High School.
The Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is South Africa's biggest and most successful science fair for primary and secondary school learners, where they are provided with an opportunity to exhibit their own scientific investigations and engineering projects.
The Eskom Expo brings together students, teachers, professional organisations and educational bodies from all over South Africa and the world.
All learners are encouraged to enter the Regional Expo for young scientists.
It is an event which allows participants from Grade 6-12 to present their projects to a panel of judges.
"We strive to develop young scientists who are able to identify a problem, analyse information, find solutions and communicate the findings effectively," said Bredell.

- Judges to judge at the Science Fair to be held at NMU in George from 10 to 11 August.
