PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS – Western Cape Premier Alan Winde convened and chaired a Premier's Coordinating Forum in Plettenberg Bay this morning, Tuesday 29 August.
The forum was one aspect of a wider and larger visit to Plett by Winde, which started yesterday and involved bricklaying in Ebenhaezer as well as a cabinet outreach at the Piesang Valley Community Hall.
There Winde and his cabinet engaged with residents of Plettenberg Bay, including a group of scholars from Qolweni which protested outside the community centre calling for a school to be built in the township.
At this morning's forum the Western Cape cabinet, along with between 80 and 100 mayors and municipal managers attended the gathering which is part of the Western Cape's governance mechanisms.
The forum convenes at regular intervals where his cabinet meets with all Western Cape mayors and municipal managers to thrash out governance issues.
