KNYSNA NEWS - The rape case against four males who allegedly raped a minor last year was postponed for arguments at the Thembalethu Magistrate Court on Thursday, 17 May.
The suspects who were all minors during the time of their arrest allegedly lured the then 15-year-old into a house in White Location and repeatedly raped her on 10 February.
They all abandoned bail subsequent to their arrest and have been in custody ever since.
Due to the sexual nature of the trial and suspects' ages, they could not be named and members of the public were not allowed in during the court proceedings.
However, since they have now all turned 18, it can be revealed that Sivenathi Nalo, Beni Didishe, Ayanda Jacobs and Beni Kope are facing charges of kidnap, attempted murder and rape.
Earlier this week, at the Thembalethu magistrate court on May 14 and 15, they all took the stand relaying their version of events.
After learning that the state prosecutor Chamel Sabestian was off sick, magistrate Euginia Jacobs postponed the case to next week Tuesday, 22 May for arguments. The case will appear at the Thembalethu Magistrate Court. Nwabisa Pondoyi will follow this case.
