Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The Agenda has been released for the Special Council Meeting to be held on 25 October 2017 at the Knysna Council Chambers at 09:00.
Two motions will serve before council at this meeting.
The first is the motion of no confidence in the Deputy Executive Mayor, DA ward 10 representative Cllr Peter Myers, which has been proposed by DA Cllr Dr Levael Davis, the Ward 1 representative and DA chief whip and seconded by DA Cllr Cathy Weideman, the Ward 2 representative, after permission to bring the motion was granted as has been reported.
The second motion serving before council is a motion of no confidence in the Executive Mayor, DA Cllr Eleanore Bouw-Spies, the Ward 5 representative and Speaker DA Cllr Georlene Wolmarans, who is a proportional representative (PR) councillor.
This motion has been proposed by ANC Cllr Victor Molosi, the ward 8 representative and seconded by ANC Cllr Mertle Gombo, the ANC chief whip.
The second motion concludes with the request that the "removal of the speaker and executive mayor and the filling of their positions must be in conducted by secret vote."
