SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Eight members of the Knysna Fire and Rescue Department's Sedgefield station recently attended a half-day teambuilding programme at Outward Bound on the Swartvlei.
This was given by Outward Bound as part of their community service and to thank the fire department for the wonderful work that they do in the area.
The seven men and one brave woman arrived at the base having been told it would be an outdoor programme, but not much more. So, while they were excited, they were also a little nervous.
The firefighters all mentioned at the end of the programme, not only how much they had enjoyed it, but how proud they were of themselves for overcoming these challenges. They also spoke about the lessons learned such as leadership, teamwork, communication, planning and decision making.
