GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - "We come out of a very challenging year as the Bitou Municipality. However, despite the many challenges we faced, we can say we came out stronger and more determined to deliver quality services to the people from our communities.
We hope that all our visitors, who made our town their destination of choice, enjoyed all our tourism attractions and scenic beauty and recharged their batteries for 2020.
We also hope that our residents' friendliness, peaceful natures and spirit of Ubuntu, touched those who visited us.
On behalf of the entire Bitou council, the municipal manager, Advocate Lonwabo Ngoqo, all the officials, I wish all our residents, visitors and stakeholders a happy New Year.
We hope that the 2020 is a year laden with many opportunities for prosperity and success."
Knysna Deputy Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa
It feels like such a short time ago that 2019 was still ahead of us, yet here we are: at the start of 2020.
Not only are we entering a new year, but a whole new decade of challenges and opportunities. We must learn from our past and remember our heritage, but let us all look toward our shared future with twenty-twenty vision, as it were. And, while we look ahead, let us not forget to focus on the here and now – on the tasks at hand.
When we are present and affording all our attention to the success of the present, we can be optimistically assured of the success of our future.
That is my wish for you all for 2020 – success. I hope that your successes of today lead to even more of the same in the future. Of course we all know that success only comes from hard work but, looking at what we have overcome in the past few years, I know that the people of Greater Knysna take pride in working hard. I also wish you success in your relationships and personal development. Show those you love what they mean to you, and never stop learning.
We are all capable of writing our own life story – I wish that your chapter 2020 is one of happiness and peace
