KNYSNA NEWS - The DA’s hopes to take over the reigns in Knysna were thwarted today when its motions of no confidence to remove current mayor, Elrick van Aswegen and Speaker Myrtle Gombo were both defeated by 11 votes to 10 in a special council meeting this morning.
The DA also withdrew its motion of no confidence against deputy mayor Aubrey Tswenga.
The failed vote puts on hold any opportunity to submit another MONC (motion of no confidence) for at least three months.
