PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A 22-year-old man drowned at Natures Valley beach on 19 December, when four men were caught in rip currents. Three men managed to reach the shore safely.
The National Sea Rescue Institute responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, one man lost his life.
The man was found submerged underwater, and despite NSRI's efforts, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
The NSRI extends its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and urges beachgoers to swim only at lifeguard-protected beaches and follow designated safer areas marked by red and yellow flags.
