PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed and killed a friend during a scuffle in the Crags, on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay, on Saturday 13 March.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie said the suspect allegedly confronted and attacked a group of men in Bloekom Street in the Crags at about 22:45.
"It is further alleged that he pulled a knife and stabbed wildly towards the group of men in an attempt to flee from them and in the process stabbed his friend in the chest," Pojie said.
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Sinethemba Ndaba. He died on the scene. "An autopsy will be conducted in the week to determine the exact cause of death."
Pojie said the suspect was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on a charge of murder this week.
"The investigation is ongoing and the motive of the initial attack is being probed."
