KNYSNA NEWS - Dancers from two Knysna studios recently took to the stage at the Move! National Dance Competition in Cape Town where they did themselves and their teachers proud.
The competition took place between 29 September and 3 October at the Sea Point Civic Centre. Ten pupils represented Sidwell Roman School of Ballet under the stewardship of teachers Sidwell Roman and Courtney-Drew Meyer.
The studio did well and came back with seven medals for the junior team and 10 medals for the senior team. To top it off, the youngest dancer, Chloe Mello (5), received the trophy for the Best Mini Dancer in all dance disciplines for the competition.
Five pupils (Alysah Stead, Kiara Stead, Zélie de Villiers, Lana Tripkovic and Maya Kerr) of Art in Motion Dance Academy, under tuition by Maria Coetzer, competed in the hip hop, modern, jazz and acrobatic dance categories.
