KNYSNA NEWS - The Western Cape Government has partnering with district municipalities to create Public Viewing Areas (PVAs) throughout the province where members of the public can watch the live televised coverage of former President Nelson Mandela’s funeral in Qunu this coming Sunday, December 15.

These viewing areas are a crucial opportunity for Western Cape residents to participate in the momentous occasion as the week of national mourning draws to a close.The PVAs are expected to operate between 09:00 and 15:00.

The Eden district's PVA is at the Rosemoore Stadium in George.

In Knysna the public can also watch live televised coverage at all designated Knysna Municipal places of tribute.
The usual rules regarding public gatherings will apply, including the banning of alcohol at all sites.

Designated municipal places of tribute and the times when they are open daily until Sunday:

• Cearn Hall, Leisure Island (10:00 - 18:00);
• Knysna Committee Room, Knysna Council building (08:00 - 16:00);
• Chris Hani Community Hall, Dam-se-Bos (12:00 - 19:00);
• Masifunde Library, White Location (12:00 - 19:00);
• Khayalethu Community Hall (12:00 - 19:00);
• Smutsville Community Hall (12:00 - 19:00);
• Hornlee Community Hall (12:00 - 19:00);
• Sedgefield Town Hall (10:00 - 18:00);
• Karatara Community Hall (12:00 - 19:00);
• Rheenendal Community Hall (12:00 - 19:00).
